Hide Folder is a secure and user-friendly program for password-protecting
your important files, folders and discs. It prevents unauthorised
access to your sensitive information and programs.
Hide Folder makes protected folders completely invisible,
inaccessible or accessible in a read-only mode. The information
can be encrypted with one of 9 cryptographic algorithms (TMS,
BLOWFISH, CAST, COBRA, PC1, SERPENT, RIJNDAEL, TRIPLEDES,
TWOFISH).
Protected folders and their contents are prevented from being
renamed, modified, deleted, copied, moved, accessed or even
seen on the system. Hide Folder 3.0 lets user specify some
selected programs that are still allowed to access the protected
areas (such as virus scanners, disk drive utilities, etc).
The Protection Wizard allows you to choose your actions step
by step, set Protection or Tricks or encrypt the data.
This is the main Hide Folder screen, allowing you to specify
which objects are to be protected.
The list includes all protected objects: File, folder, disk,
files by mask, My Documents content, Internet History, Favorites,
encrypted files, time and date settings, Desktop and Control
Panel.
To encrypt the selected file, mark it in the list and press
Encryption >> Encrypt File in the Encryption menu. Choose
the appropriate algorithm from a selection of 8 possible algorithms.
You can set protection for My Documents and My Favorites
with one click. Unauthorised users can't open or delete files
in these folders.
For a convenient search for a disk, folder or file with pre-defined
rights you can use the Find Object function.
Trusted processes can see all protected objects. You can
protect files from this window by clicking the file you need
in the list.
In stealth mode, Hide Folder is invisible in the 'Start'
and 'Program File' menus. This prevents unauthorised users
from starting Hide Folder and changing your settings.
Revealing and accessing Hide Folder while in stealth mode
is achieved with Hot Key settings.
You can change Hide Folder's start password at any moment.
You can quickly configure access to your files with Hot Keys.
Only you can define key combinations.
Hide folder can be customised to use fonts that you are comfortable
with in the Options/Font menu.
